• Woman killed when vehicle slides on icy road: MIDDLEBURG, Ohio - The name of the 31-year-old Hardin County woman was withheld while troopers attempted to notify family members. The woman was driving southeast on County Road 144 near the Logan-Union county line when her Jeep Cherokee crossed the center line and struck the truck nearly head on, said Lt. Rick Zwayer of the Marysville post. The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from her vehicle. The icy and partially snow covered road appeared to be a factor in the 7:41 a.m. collision, Zwayer said. • Semi loaded with TVs rolls near Casa Grande: A semitruck carrying televisions and other electronics rolled over Saturday on a highway near Casa Grande. Authorities said the tractor-traile r ended up in the median around 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 8, not far from the Interstate 10 junction southeast of Casa Grande in Pinal County. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. No other vehicles were involved.

• Man Hurt In Semi, Train Crash: Officials said an Aplington man is in critical condition after the tractor-traile r he was driving failed to stop at an eastern Iowa railroad crossing and was struck by a locomotive. An Iowa State Patrol report said Byron Johnson, 42, was injured in the crash Wednesday afternoon. He was reportedly driving south when the tractor-traile r ran through the Sinclair Elevator railroad crossing and was struck by an eastbound locomotive. • Truck rams into Tempe firearms store: Two men rammed a pick-up truck into the front window of a firearms store in Tempe early Thursday morning before burglarizing the store.. Detectives are not saying what the two men took from Arizona Tactical Firearms, 1809 E. Baseline Road. The pair drove the truck into the store at about 4:30 a.m. and then left in a second vehicle that had been parked in the lot.. Detectives are working with store owners to determine what was missing from the store. They were also reviewing surveillance camera footage from the morning.

• T-bone collision sends brothers to hospital: Rockford, IL - Teenage brothers believed to be twins were injured this afternoon in a violent T-bone collision between a garbage truck and a pickup truck at Blackhawk Road and 20th Street. The pickup, according to witnesses, failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck on the driver?s side by the garbage truck. The garbage truck pushed the pickup about 50 yards west of the intersection. The driver?s side of the pickup caved in before the vehicles came to a stop.
• Truck Crashes When Driver Falls Asleep: YORK COUNTY, Pa. -- A truck driver from Michigan will be charged with careless driving after she fell asleep at the wheel in York County early Tuesday morning. When Kennda Towle fell asleep her truck went off of Interstate 83, hit a bridge abutment in Springettsbury Township and caught fire just after 3 a.m. Towle and a passenger both got out of the burning truck safely. • Truck driver cited after pulling into path of train near Calhoun's: Police say they have issued a citation to the driver of a flatbed truck that was struck by a train this afternoon in front of Calhoun's On the River along Neyland Drive. Brian Spurling, 47, of Deer Lodge, was trying to leave the restaurant 9;s parking lot in a flatbed truck about 2:11 p.m. when he pulled into the path of a Knoxville and Holston River Railroad train that was going westbound on the tracks Diesel fuel leaked from the truck, but Corcoran said firefighters quickly contained the leaking fuel and absorbed it with a special material, keeping it from reaching the river. The train was pulling about 20 cars. The type of cargo wasn't immediately available. The train's conductor, 54-year-old Barry Lefever, wasn't injured.. • Man dies a day after being struck by truck in Golden Gate: GOLDEN GATE ? David H. Cottongim, who was struck by a truck about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday on Collier Boulevard near 18th Avenue S.W., died Thursday morning from his injuries. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 1994 Kenworth truck was driven by and registered to Sergio Jorge Ginoris, 36; an accident report has yet to be filed. [Haber: The Hearts of Men]
• Man Found Dead In Neighbor's Driveway: EVANSDALE, Iowa -- Police said they are investigating the death of a man who was found in a neighbor' s driveway in Evansdale. Police said Roy Lucas was visiting a friend on Saturday and left to walk home. The friend, Richard Mosley, got into his pickup truck to go to the store.
