Swedish rapper faces road-rage charges

Swedish hip-hop artist David Moses Jassy is scheduled to be arraigned today on three felony charges stemming from an alleged road-rage incident in Hollywood in which a 55-year-old man died.

  • Pedestrian Hit, Killed On Highway 76: ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -- A Williamston man was killed overnight when he was hit by a car on Highway 76 in Anderson County. The coroner said that Lance Markie Hood, 28, was hit by a woman who was driving a compact car on the highway at about 2 a.m. She called 911 and reported hitting the man. Anderson County Corner Greg Shore said that Hood and Michael Brandon Pierce, 25, had just gotten dropped off on the highway before Hood was struck. No charges have been filed against the driver, and Shore said that alcohol was not a factor with the driver. Shore said that Hood's death is Anderson County?s 23rd traffic fatality of 2008.   • Teen Killed, 3 Hurt When Car Hits Pedestrians: MONROE, Ohio -- At least one person is dead and three more injured after a vehicle struck four pedestrians near the Trenton Bridge Saturday morning, officials said. Police responded to 41 Oxford State Road around 6:30 a.m. Aaron Vance, 21, and Richard Briscoe, 18, were airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital with unspecified injuries. William Mayers, 18, was transported to Atrium Medical Center. Nathanial Cameron, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene.   • 15-year-old hit twice crossing Nine Mile in Warren: WARREN -- Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who slammed into a 15-year-old pedestrian Friday afternoon, knocking the girl into another oncoming vehicle before fleeing the scene. The incident, which left the girl in critical condition, happened about 5:30 p.m. when the pedestrian was crossing Nine Mile Road at Van Dyke. "Driver No. 2 didn't get a real good look at the other driver, so we don't know if it was a male or female," the detective said. "We' ll look at the physical evidence at the scene to see if we can get further details."

  • Woman Killed By Vehicle While Crossing Street: DAVIE, Fla. -- A woman was killed Monday night while trying to cross a busy road in Davie. Police said the woman was trying to cross University Drive just north of Orange Drive around 7:30 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver remained at the scene to talk with police and was visibly upset after the accident.

The collision happened around 7:10 a.m. at Fulton Street and 30th Avenue near Golden Gate Park. Police Sgt. Lyn Tomioka said the victim is an elderly woman. The incident happened in the 300 block of Village Road around 7:15 p.m., according to a release from Leland police.
